Director of Software Engineering

Director of Software Engineering:
If you are a Director of Engineering with at least 3 years of Director level experience, please read on!

What you need to have:
- 10+ years of IT experience
- 3+ years of Director level experience managing Software Development teams
- 5+ years of hands on development experience working in a Microsoft environment; Asp.Net, C#, SQL Server
- Knowledge & experience in application development, systems design and architecture, maintenance and support - Full Life Cycle
- Working knowledge of the Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge & experience managing high traffic / enterprise level web applications; e-commerce, CRM, lead management, social media, media
- Proven track record for product delivery, ability to meet deadlines, develop project plans and is results oriented
- Previous experience managing off shore development teams is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start up type environment
- Bachelors Degree, Advanced Degree is a plus (Masters, MBA, etc)

What you will be doing:
- Manage and oversee a team (7-8 people) of Software Developers in the IT department, including an off shore development team as well
- Responsible for technical development, systems design and architecture, and managing operations
- 80% management, 20% hands on development and coding
- Involved in Code Review sessions
- Oversees the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of company's flagship technology
- Build and inspire a team of talented developers
- Participates in the contract negotiations and maintenance of ongoing relationships with a variety of vendors
- Manages the development of departmental action plans
- Implement mechanisms to measure quality and cost effectiveness of work processes
- Forecast, develop and administer budget
- Be a visionary and evangelist
